About the event
This gentle lesson includes movement, relaxation and meditation.
To meditate we need to be in a relaxed but alert place. To find this point of balance the lesson firstly guides you through movement and relaxation to release physical tension and deeply rest the body. Then we come to sit for breath work and meditation to focus and calm the mind. We can experience insight when the body becomes still and the constant undulations of our thoughts begin to slow down.
Meditation is experiential, each lesson offering a different practice to concentrate and focus the mind. This will give you the opportunity to find the techniques that you enjoy and work best for you.
Please wear stretchy clothing, it's more comfortable for meditation too! Bring a yoga mat if you have one, or let me know if you would like to borrow one. A lightweight blanket or shawl is useful for the guided relaxation or I do have some spares. About 30 minutes is spent seated, choose a cushion or a chair, to explore yogic breathing and meditation.
These classes are suitable for beginners or those seeking inspiration for their personal practice.
