Restorative Yoga & Sound Relaxation
Time & Location
About The Event
This relaxation workshop focuses on bringing ease to the mind and the body. We need an element of stress to motivate us to achieve our goals - however ongoing stress is proven not to be good for our wellbeing. Along the way our mind-body has confused 'being' with 'doing' remaining in a state of alertness and needs to find its way back to restfulness.
Discover how therapeutic yoga, relaxation, breath-work and sound can reset the body's stress response to rest and restore. Using gentle mindful movement to subtly release tension, simple restorative yoga postures to deeply rest, yogic breathing to calm our busy minds and sound healing to restore the vibrational frequencies of any imbalances in the body, mind and spirit.
I am delighted to be co-hosting this event with Karina Cox of Calmspaces who will bring with her a variety of sound instruments; singing bowls, tuning forks, tingsha bells and koshi wind chimes for our relaxation.
Limited places are available, so prior booking is essential. No previous yoga experience is necessary.
Your comfort is important
What to wear: loose stretchy clothing. As movement is slow or passive your body will cool down so be sure you are going to be warm enough, do bring an extra layer! If you get cold feet then wear warm socks! It’s preferred by some women not to wear an underwire bra; so you feel more comfortable.
What’s provided: Yoga mats, yoga bolsters, block, bricks and blankets. We also supply chairs, if this is preferred to sitting on a bolster.
What to bring: Please bring your yoga mat, if you have one, as you will able to double up your mat, for extra comfort, otherwise you can borrow one from the centre. A small cushion, if you like to support your head; an extra blanket and an eye pillow, if you have one. You are welcome to bring a meditation stool/cushion too. A small bottle of water.
