About the event
This retreat-style restorative workshop focuses on bringing ease to the mind and body. Switching off our all too often need to be doing and gently brings us down into a state of calm for the body and mind to deeply rest and be still.
We begin with gentle movement lying on your yoga mat to release accumlated tension from your day. Then move into gentle restorative yoga postures; you will learn how to use bolsters and cushions to support the body - and experience how you can naturally respond to a state of restfulness. You will learn ways to clear and calm the mind through pranayama (breath awareness) and sometimes using hand mudras. We will finish with a guided deep relaxation or yoga nidra (yogic sleep being in a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping).
Limited places available, so prior booking is essential. No previous yoga experience is necessary.
What to bring
I will supply the yoga bolsters, yoga bricks/blocks and blankets. Please bring a small cushion and an extra blanket - wear stretchy clothing, some ladies prefer not to wear underwided bras - and bring an extra layer and socks as your body will cool down while resting. If you have a yoga mat then please bring this with you, as you can double up your mat for extra comfort, otherwise you can borrow one from the centre.
